My servers have many, many error entries of the above type. The error verbiage goes on to advise to "study earlier error messages to discern what problem is." But there aren't any of these earlier messages. Oddly, these "channel ended abnormally" errors don't seem to impact message processing in any negative way.

Is this a glitch in MQSeries? Are these error messages being logged unnecessarily?

These messages occur when there's a problem with the connection. MQSeries has a built-in retry algorithm, so if the net break is very sort, you will not see almost any impact on your message flow

I too get many messages like this one. At any moment I have 1000-1500 channels connected any time.

You are right its not causing any problem to me. Though its a pain to see the Log file increasing every day.

Is there any way to stop these messges from appearing in log file ?
