Don't know what is going on but the forum seems to have had particularly slow response time this evening... (French newspaper's web site was way more responsive...)
Any body else noticed the fact?

response time seems to be back to normal. below is description of problem that has now been resolved:

' It looks like one of the switches which has the following dedicated servers hooked up to it: many servers (including ours) were suffering from major packetloss (30-50%) which is causing extremely slow access to these servers. It should eventually serve up the data (because of the way TCP/IP works) but the symptoms would be extremely slow network downloads/page loads due to droped packets and ACKs (which have to be re-transmitted). '
