I don't think CCSID comes into it all at this stage - we're just trying to get the connection up, sending a message comes later!

Don,

That was only an idea, because I had a lot of problems with differently localized MQ servers and clients. Moreover, CCSID problem used to be reported only one side, another MQ sends only TCPIP errors to the log file...

BUT this seems something else.

cactus,

Are you running your listener process from MMC or command prompt? I recommend you starting the listener as a command line process as Don mentioned. Possibly you can get a lot of extra info in this way.

Additionally, take a look of sockets with "netstat -an | find 1415"

Hi,
runmqlsr -t tcp -p 1415 -m QM2 ,ran this command there was error saying that AMQ9218......becoz QM2 is running on same port...so ,i have changed the sender channel port number to 1416.

runmqlsr -t tcp -p 1416 -m QM2.Its not giving any error but still when trying to start sender channel, It is going to retry mode.

checked the status of the port with commnad

netstat -a

all the listeners were running...

anything else...

thanks

...I'm running out of ideas here....

As Tibor and Brandon mentioned, you have to be ABSOLUTELY sure about your port number allocation. Try using TELNET to your machine, and override the port number by using 1416. You should manage to get connected, and then when type some stuff it will disconnect you.

If this doesn't work, and you can't connect, your LAN setup needs looking at.

You have got QM2 running, haven't you?

Did you try the telnet on port 1416? If that's not working (if the runmqlsr program is running on port 1416) then you have a network, not an MQ problem....
