Hi All,

We have this problem related to receiver channel on a queue manager running on S/390. Version 5.2

NTQMGR.TO.HOSTQMGR is the sender channel defined on our NT queue manger.
NTQMGR.TO.HOSTQMGR is the corresponding receiver channel defined on our S/390 HOST queue manger.

1. When we bring down the sender channel on NT Queue manager or the NT Queue manager itself, then the
a). Corresponding RCVR channel on the S/390 HOST Qmgr goes to INACTIVE state.
b). If we start the sender channel from the NT queue manger, then the channel goes into RUN state (both RCVR and SDR)
without any problem.

2. If the NT Sender channel comes down unpredictably for Network reason (i.e if the tcp ip link between the NT system
and the S/390 HOST system goes down or if we unplug the network cable on the NT Queue manger).
a). We observe that the RCVR on the S/390 HoST does not go to INACTIVE state. But it is still in the RUN state.
b). Because of this, when we re-start the Sender at NT, queue manager, it goes to RETRY state as the RCVR on S/390 HOST is
RUN state and so can not accept this connection.
c). We have to stop the RCVR on S/390 HOST with force option to make the status as STOP.
d). Start the same RCVR to bring it to INACTIVE state now.
e). Only now start the sender channel on NT to make it RUN.

Also strangely, in step C). if we stop it using normal option, then step d) makes the reciver RUN ! and the problem persists.

We experienced the same thing when the sender channel was defined on HP-Ux Qmgr like the NT Queue Manager.

All the queue managers are Version 5.2.1 The one on S/390 is 5.2

Is this a known problem for receiver channel on S/390?
Any fix pack or CSD available for this?

Will Appreciate some suggestions/ help ...
