Hi All,
This was working fine before, now getting AMQ4059 'Could not establish a connection to the QM' when trying to connect remote QM V6 on AIX using WMQ explorer on XP.
We brought the QM down for some AIX upgrade and bounced back the QM.
QM error log shows on AIX

Process(557300.18) User(root) Program(amqrmppa)
AMQ9508: Program cannot connect to the queue manager.
EXPLANATION:
The connection attempt to queue manager 'DEVQM1' failed with reason code 2035.
ACTION:
Ensure that the queue manager is available and operational.

SYSTEM.DEF.SVRCONN and SYSTEM.ADMIN.SVRCONN are available.
I'm not AIX admin and I wonder how listener and amqrmppa program running under root.
Any help.

its prompting that you are not authorized to do so (2035)
are you running/starting queue manager under mqm id

Even if he is, the process isn't running with that ownership! 
And if it's like 99% of Unix boxes, the queue managers are started by the systems

Find a guy who is the AIX admin, prefereably the guy who did the upgrade, whack him with a trout and ask if there's anything he feels he should say "oops" about with the permissions!
Especially if he typed "ch...." anything at any point!
