My client's company standard for servers is Windows 2003 and the standard for writing code is either c/c++ or VB.Net (depending on the complexity of the task).
So there's a general trend towards VB.net because most stuff just isn't that complex.
We have many applications using MQ, but now we have a new thing we need to do and we don't know how.
Nearly all of the client applications we have run under an account that we've given the rights to write onto MQ queue of applications that use MQ.
We now want to write an application that can cross windows domains where the Windows trusts are very limited. We can't run the client application under an account that we can trust from the server.
So, we would like to be able to pass credentials on username/password from the client to the server that the server does trust. This is very common for most applications (PeopleSoft, Oracle, etc.) which allow or require the logon to provide these. Very few applications require that the client run under an authorized account.
It looks like there's an API (MQAuthenticationInformationRecord) that may allow this, but we cannot find any useful documentation or examples that even show the parameters to use with this.
Does anyone know how this API is used (it's part of the .Net API) and can shows a few lines of code how in either VB.Net (preferred) or C#? _________________ Careful with that VAX Eugene |

Let me say that all of our client applications that message to servers via MQ run under accounts that have the authority to write to the server's MQ queue.
The clients are either running on other Windows 2000/2003 servers or Windows XP desktops. _________________ Careful with that VAX Eugene |

There are only 3 supported MQ security products in the market place that do full UserId and Password authentication:
- Capitalware's MQ Authenticate User Security Exit
- IBM's WebSphere MQ Extended Security Edition V6
- Primeur's Data Secure for WebSphere MQ
I'll gladly answer any questions you have related to MQAUSX and UserId & Password authentication.
