Hi All,
Has anyone had issues running MQv6 with RHEL ES4? When we put the system under relatively light load, we get the following errors;
Quote: |
AMQ9233: Error creating TCP/IP Responder thread.
EXPLANATION:
The process attempted to create a new thread. The most likely cause of this
problem is a shortage of an operating system resource (for example: memory).
Use any previous FFSTs to determine the reason for the failure. The WebSphere
MQ internal return code describing the reason for the failure is 536895526.
|
and FDC files with "'11 - Resource temporarily unavailable' from pthread_create."
I believe our kernel settings are at the IBM suggested levels copy below;
Quote: |
System V Semaphores
semmsl (sem:1) 2510 semaphores IBM:128 OK
semmns (sem:2) 11086 of 32000 semaphores (34%) IBM:16384 OK
semopm (sem:3) 2510 operations IBM:5 OK
semmni (sem:4) 116 of 1024 sets (11%) IBM:1024 OK
System V Shared Memory
shmmax 268435456 bytes IBM:268435456 OK
shmmni 167 of 4096 sets (4%) IBM:1024 OK
shmall 4194304 pages (4%) IBM:4194304 OK
Other Settings
file-max 65536 files IBM:32768 OK

After a lot of googling, I found this; http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg27007221 which is for the zSeries distro. Could this bug also be for the Linux distro? We're also on the 2.6 kernel.
Any ideas/sugestions most appreciated. |

Google for "mq LD_ASSUME_KERNEL". This could be related to your problem, but no guarantees. _________________ Glenn |

I had already looked at and discounted the LD_ASSUME_KERNEL. Turns out to be a simple error on my part. Some of the kernel settings required by MQ were "echoed" in after I had started the QMGRs. MQ picked up the new kernel params after I bounced the QMGRs... doh! |

Shouldn't be relevant with MQ 6, IfIRememberCorrectly. |
