I accidentally created a broker and specified a queue manager (which didnt' exist) with an 'invalid' name (mqbroker-01...MQ doesn't like hyphens in their qm names...sigh).
However, the broker was still created (!!!)
-bash-3.00$ mqsilist
BIP8099I: Broker: mqbroker_01 - mqbroker-01
BIP8071I: Successful command completion.
If I try to delete the broker, it complains it can't find the queue manager, and when I try to create the queue manager, it says it's an 'invalid' name.
Stupid me, how can I get rid of this broker? Is there a file I can edit, or dir I can delete?
Sigh. Thanks. _________________ MQ 6.0.2.3

Try -q and -w on the mqsideletebroker...
Also try updating the registry entry for the broker's qmgr name manually. And then delete it. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

In addition, some mediatation on http://www.mqseries.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=40748
may also provide another workable route.
The thing to remember is that... the broker may be already mostly deleted, so you shouldn't assume you can do anything other than finish deleting it completely and starting over. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

I went into the registry, deleted the queue manager name from the QueueManagerName file, and was able to delete the broker _________________ MQ 6.0.2.3
