What are the pros and cons of creating a permenant dynamic queue compared to a permenant queue?
Background:
We have an application that requires a queue to be created for each agency granted access. I've been creating the queues manually. The benifit to this is that we're forwarned of throughput changes. A coworker is leaning towards making the queues permenant dynamic. Is there any overhead or downfalls with permenant dynamic queues that can help me justify keeping the queue setup manual?
As far as runtime performance is concerned to my knowledge I do see any difference. The only overhead of the Permanent Dynamic queue is the dynamic creation of it. If you are not creating them frequently then that's also not an issue for you.
However Permanent Dynamic queues are created from Model queue and inherites all the properties of the Model queue. If your requirements are such that you need different properties for each new queue, then you have to give go through more thought process. For example some queue may need more MAXDEPTH.
