I have just seen a Windows 2003 Server
where there were MQ Queue depth counters,
and would like to have such a monitor in my systems.
I have looked into Support Packs, but MO70 only monitor MQ Channels.
Can someone tell me what must I install in Windows (XP if possible)
in order to have a MQ queue depth monitoring using Windows PerfMon ?
Thanks. Seb. |

Nothing, it comes with MQ (queue manager) as standard on Windoze. |

Then, my conclusion I am not using PerfMon properly ...
I have MQ 6.0.1.1 under Windows XP.
I start "perfmon", and see a running monitor.
With a Right-Click, I get the menu "Add Counters",
where I select "Use Local Computer counters",
select the "Performance Object" of "MQSeries Queues"
...
( looks interesting, doesn't it ? )
...
reach to the bottom where it says :
"Selects counters from list" ... Queue Depth
and to the right I have "Select Instances from list" ...
AND IT IS AN EMPTY MENU, so the APPLY button is gray (can't use it )
What am I doing wrong ?
Thanks. |

Guess I can improve my question :
SHALL I MODIFY some queue's parameter,
to have it visible to PERFMON ?
[ I am located at Queue Properties using Explorer, statistics entry ]
(a) Queue MONITORING := HIGH ?
(b) Queue STATISTICS := ON ?
(c) Queue ACCOUNTING := ON ?
Enjoy. |

The "empty" listbox gets filled up with the queues that are NOT EMPTY.
So, I filled my queue with a spare msg,
added it to the monitor, and now it is OK !!!
