Just a quick note to see if anyone can advise - we are trying to use the FTP Plugin node under MQSI 2.01 (no csd's applied). Our problem seems to be that the node is only allowing very small messages to be processed (around 1400 bytes). We have checked out the FTP server by doing a manual connection and transfer of a larg file and that works ok - so it would seem to rule out an ftp server issue.
Has anyone encountered problems similar to this before or can anyone advise on where we can look?
Cheers

The first obvious question is why are you using a version so far out-of-date? I would at least apply the most current CSD if not move up to WMQI 2.1. Using an un-patched 2.0.1 may well be the cause of your problems.
Now having gotten that off my chest.
How are large messages treated? (not read from the queue, sent to a failure node, other?) Is there any information in /var/adm/messages?

Thanks for the feedback - We have a migration plan in place to upgrade to 2.1 - as 2.01 end of life's at the end of this year. The problem seems a bit more fundamental though as the plugin node was available when 2.01 was the flavour of the month according to the pre-reqs in the documentation (does not state that it has to be patched).
Using a simple message flow anything larger than a 1.5 - 2k message gets bounced to a failure node/queue and we get a 2061 eventlog message saying how it was "unable to write to memory". Running MQSI on NT btw.
Kirani - if this is a known problem then has Neil (Kolban) got back to anyone with an updated version. I know the source code is supplied but not being a C programmer I wouldn't know where to change buffer settings if that's what the problem is.
Failing that is there any other form of FTP transfer from MQSI / MQ Series? I've had a quick look at the mqftp client but it doesn't seem to like being scripted and I'm not sure how I could handle dynamic naming of files.
Any thoughts?

Nik,
Since we are not using this plug-in in our project, I didn't report this problem to Neil Kolban.
I went thru the code sometime back, I didn't see any buffersize limitation in the code that can cause this problem. He is making use of InternetExplorer platform SDK functions to FTP the file using this plug-in. I don't know if there is any limitation imposed by InternetWriteFile function.
I would recommend that you send an email to Neil Kolban about this. I am sure you will get some good response from him (if he is free). You could also try writing your own plug-in node in Java to do this.
Good luck! _________________ Kiran
