It makes no sense to write to a remote queue manager when you don't know the name of the queue you're aiming at. Even if you wrote straight to the transmission queue (an unbelievably bad idea!) how's that going to help? Once the message arrives at the remote queue manager, what's going to happen? How will the remote queue manager know where to put the message if you've not specified a destination?
I don't understand your requirement here. How can you have a situation where you don't know the queue your message is going to? I understand about not knowing which queue manager is hosting it and there are various strategies for dealing with that, but how can a system be designed to fire a message generally in the direction of a queue manager & hope it finds it's way.
IMHO (and clearly I've never tried this) if you tried what you're proposing the sender MCA would dead letter the message because the transmission header would be incomplete - no destination. That's assuming it didn't throw an FDC and stop the channel. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

NEVER EVER EVER directly write to the XMITQ.
EVER.
Everything else Vitor says is spot on. Your question makes very little sense.
Also, if all you know is the remote queue manager name... how do you know which XMITQ you would write to, anyway? How do you know you even have a channel that goes to that QM? _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |
