Hi,

Does anybody know a good way to find the number of child elements? I need the number to control my loop.

I am not happy my current solution.

Thanks a lot.

Yanghui,

What is your current solution?
Code:

<Data>
  <address><city>torrance</city><state>ca</state></address>
  <address><city>tampa</city><state>fl</state></address>
  <address><city>milwaukee</city><state>wi</state></address>
  <address><city>chicaho</city><state>il</state></address>
</Data>

Given above input message, do u want to know the number of all child elements or only immediate elements of <Data> tag?

Hi Yanghui,

Have you tried using field function CARDINALITY.
Please refer ESQL Reference for more information. I hope that might solve your problem.
