I am stopping a message flow on an AIX broker, but after 30 mins the open input count (IPPROCS) is still set to 1.

Is this a WMQI issue or should I ask in the MQSeries forum? I remember reading somewhere that unix queue managers can have problems cleaning up closed connections, but surely not for 30 minutes??

The broker doesn't terminate the thread, just suspend it. So if you like to a real stopping, you should remove your message flow from broker then re-deploy.

The best way to close the open queue is, remove message flow from EG which is reading/writing to queue and redeploy EG. After this you will see queue status as closed. After reading messages from queue, you can reassign message flow and redeploy it. I could not find any other simple way to do this.

You can stop the q-manager and restart it, but of course this is not a very good way of doing things...

I think stopping the message flow (in the operation tab of control center) and redeploying the broker will also close the queue.
