Customer is trying to create a second broker to use Oracle 8.1.7 on an HP server, in addition to an existing broker on the same server using DB2.


$ mqsicreatebroker EAI_BROKER -i mqm -a mqm88888 -q EAI_QM -n EXPOD -u mqsi -p mqsi

BIP8146E: Unable to retrieve the SQL primitives supported by the Database.
The command attempted to retrieve the SQL primitives that the Database
supports, however the primitives retrieved indicate that the Database could
not be contacted successfully. Refer to the Administration Guide for
information about Database setup, ensure that the Database libraries are
available in the library path and that the odbc ini file is correct.

Hi,

I had the same problem on solaris plateform,

The solution is, in the .profile file, we need to add the locale message as the followin :

# Insert environment variables for WMQI on the plateform Solaris
. /opt/wmqi/sample/profiles/profile.sol

# The following will setup NLS
NLSPATH=$NLSPATH:/opt/mqsi/merant/locale/en_US/LC_MESSAGES/%N
export NLSPATH
