Hey guys. I have a client application on my local windows pc that connects to a remote Windows QMGR.
I used to have a trial version of MQ Server on my local pc as well. The client XMS.NET app connected to the remote QMGR just fine. (was not using the local Websphere trial at all in any way)
My trial expired, I unistalled the MQ server off of my local pc. I installed the free MQ Client software.
Now when I try to connect to remote QMGR it doesn't work.
I read through the MQ Client PDF.
Set My MQSERVER variable using the exact server-channel name defined on the remote QMGR (all UPPERCASE).
I verified that the remote QMGR is running as well as the Listener and channel. Network connections are fine as well.
I receive the reason code: 2059
And this error:
Quote: |
CWSMQ0043E: The specified queue manager is not available. The application has tried to connect to a queue manager that is not available. Check if the queue manager has been started. Ensure that the host, port, channel definitions supplied are correct. Also check the firewall settings, if any. |
any help would be really appreciated! Thanks Everyone![/quote] |

Do a search in the forum for 2059 - it is the most common reason code that's actually a problem and can be caused by almost anything.
Sounds like you've gone through the obvious checks but double check the MQSERVER variable including poirt. Make sure the variable is defined in the environment your app is running in, verify there isn't a firewall between you and the queue manager (the default Windows one gets everywhere) and then trawl through the other poster's pain to find your problem! _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

Thanks for replying.
I am currently going through previous posts as you suggested and have check everything else you mentioned.
If this there anything else that might be causing it?
I'll continue to check those past posts/
Thanks again! |

Almost everything. I've come close to trying to resolve a 2059 by drawing mystic symbols on the back of the router in my own blood. Which was leaking from my nose and ears at that point! _________________ Honesty is the best policy.
