In MQ server for a Queuemanager and for a Queue the maximum message Length is 100 Mb.

But in my application I want to increase the maximum message length for the Queue(i want more than 100MB as per my requirement. I want some GB of space )as well as for the QM.

Is there any way to increase the Maximum Message length for the Queue manager and for the Queue.

I am using MQ server V 6.0.0.0

ANy help would be appreciated.

Thanks and Regards,

Sajayan

Maximum message length is parameter of queue, channel and QMGR.

You can change it with MQSC script or with GUI.

Another way is using segmentation when you don't have enough memory to process huge message.

The maximum size possible is 104857600. You can't make it any bigger.

More specifically, the maximum size of a physical message is 100Meg. This is the maximum message length that can be put/get.

A logical message (composed of one or more physical messages) can be as big as you want.

Trying to use message space as a work buffer is not very logical. What else would be a justification for that big of a message?
