Hello,

I wonder what mechanism you have for cleaning up.

We have a number of interface tables that are populated from the core tables when something will be sent to JDBC adapter. Therefore we have a DB trigger on the interface tables which creates the event. After JDBC adapter have consumed the event we would like to have the interface tables cleaned up...

One tasteful approach would be:
1. The adapter gets the event and then read the data from interface tables
2. The adapter sends the populated message
3. The adapter updates the status of the event
4. The adapter archive the event (if enabled)
5. The adapter deletes the record from interface tables

Is this possible in the standard product?

One other (fallback) approach could be to have a scheduled job that uses the archive table and the information to delete the record.
This can be more complex if the BO is a composite object.

Any ideas/thoughts?

Everything looks starighforward, except to clean the interface table after the event is consumed.

I am little naive in Database concepts, so can yiou give more info on what you mean by

I know that the adapter constructs a temprory event table entry for every event, but I thought it would delete (never cheked it) the event from this temp table after the event is processed.

What else did you find out mean while ?

Hi,

I also don't like the "database interfaces" but this is a large COTS application (very database centric). It has a number of interface tables in which the application populates with data from the core tables (application outbound).

Since we want to keep the programming model in WMB we have chosen to use the WBIA for JDBC.

When the insert have taken place there are DB trigger on the interface table that puts the event in the WBIA event table. After WBIA have sucessfully consumed the event the data in the event table is deleted. At this point the data in the interface tables are left and we would like to have that "consumed data" removed as well.

Any more thoughts/ideas??
