Hi,

I am wondering if any of you have experienced these errors in the Control Center since installing WMQI 2.1? We get the following when trying to connect to a different Configuration Manager:

BIP0067E an unexpected exception occurred.
com.ibm.xml.parser.TXDOMException.

A com.ibm.xml.parser.TXDOMException exception occurred which reported the following message: {2}.

Turn on Control Center tracing.
Retry the operation and Contact your IBM Support Center.

We get the following BIP0068E when trying to refresh the operation tab:

BIP0068E An unexpected exception occured: java.lang.NullPointerException.

A java.lang.NullPointerException exception occurred but provided no additional information.

Turn on Control Center tracing.
Retry the operation and Contact your IBM Support Center.

Does anyone know if there is a patch for these errors? We have CSD2 applied.

Thanks,
Karen

Karen,

By default Control Center is launched with no tracing. You could turn on the Control Center trace by invoking mqsilcc.bat file with 1 or 2 as parameter. After you get this error use commands mqsireadlog and mqsiformatlog to extract trace for the Control Center component and see what is going wrong.

Are you able to connect to different Configuration Manager (configmgr2) from the same workstation using CC? Do you see any errors in the Windows Evenet viewer on configmgr2 machine?

Kiran,

For the BIP0067E it does actually connect to the other configuration manager. The error is just a nuisance! We have also noticed that we don't get this error unless we change something and save. In other words, I can open the control center and connect to configuration manager 1 and browse all I want, switch to configuration manager 2 and browse and continue to switch back and forth all day no problem. If I make a change in one of the environments though that's when the error message pops up but it will go ahead and connect.

Then if you make the change and want to view the operations tab, it has the other configuration managers operation tab. When the refresh button is hit, the BIP0068E occurs. The only way we have found around this is to shut down the control center and start new.

I am guessing by your response that you have not encountered this problem?

Where would the control center trace be run? My pc that is trying to connect or the pc that I am trying to connect to?

Thanks,

Karen

Karen,

This is a strange problem!

I have connected to different Config Managers thru my Workstation and I never faced this kind of problem.

You would run Trace on your Control Center machine (your PC that is trying to connect). Whenever an error occurs, have a look at EventViewer of the PC that you are trying to connect to (Config Mgr PC).
