Hi there, does anyone know of any MQSeries specific bandwidth requirements when using TCP/IP over LAN and WAN? Can it just be viewed as a conventional TCP/IP conversational application? Is it as simple as using the message sizes and volumes to calculate the required bandwidth? i.e. the convesation between the MCAs has little overhead?

The chit-chat between the MCAs is indeed quite lite. I would consider an MQSeries channel as no more than a TCP/IP sockets connection. There is an ack message (very small) sent back to the sender of a message to confirm sucessful delivery. Consider the addition of the MQMD header associated with each MQ message in terms of bandwidth as well.
