Hi,
I know log file settings have been covered several times here and in the manuals.
We have a situation where we have 400000x15k messages on one of our queues.
This would seem to indicate that we should have log file settings of at least 5.8GB. This is without taking into account overheads.
Our log files are currently set to 1mb x 40 primary and 20 secondary.
I'd looking to find out when my QM is likely to go bang as the it seems that 60mb is woefully small given the data size. I'm having trouble understanding how we are still running with these levels.
Any help - as always appreciated.
Thanks

that's only 24000 15k messages,
are you sure they are all 15k?
what platform are you on?
linear logging? _________________ Michael

Yes I agree - perhaps some are uncommitted. But this still does not explain the discrepancy...
I'm baffled... |

Sorry forgot to add we are on Windows (gulp) and have linear logging.
Should also just clarify that the log files are actaully 4mb each - therefor total working set is potentially 4x60 = 240mb.
Apologies, I read 1024k in the settings but didn't do the multiplication
This still does not explain how we have 400000...
The messages are minimum 15k maximum 50k
Cheers

it's prod - very prod!
We are stopping our incoming channel to slow down rate at which messages are arriving...
Just worried about how much headroom we have... |
