Hi All,

What I am trying to do is validate list of substrings from a error description message coming as an xml string element.

For e.g. from a string i have to check where it contains "File not found" or similar list of strings. These substring doesn't have any fix potions or fixed length & can be any where in the error descriptions...Any suggestions in this.

Doesn't the POSITION function solve this problem?

It will tell you at what point the substring in question was found, or that the substring wasn't found.

Thanks Jeff, I don't know how i missed this... i was more into substring functions...
