Hello,
I have a 'simple' client-server application, that seems to lose its messages. Actually they are lost while processing.
1) Client delivers a msg to MQ (lets call this queue 1)
2) Server picks up the msg (from queue 1)
3) Server processes the msg
4) Server delivers a response msg to MQ (Lets call this queue 2)
5) Client picks up the msg (from queue 2)
While in phase 5, queue 2 size being around 60000 msgs, and client has handled somewhat sizable amount of response messages, the messages get lost from the queue 2?!?! They just disappear. 60000 messages disappear.
No crash, no problems can be found fromd the log files. Messages are set for 14 day ttl period. And this whole event takes place in 4-5 hours.
Any clues why this would happening? MQ version is 530.12.
Thank you for any help I can get. |

Sorry to bother
I double checked our developers code and found out that they need to do math again. Their value for ttl was for 5,5 hours, not for 14 day like it was supposed to!
This just shows that never trust a developer |

Not a bad mantra. If I had £5 for every time the question "how do you check the MQ reason code" had been met with the answer "what's a reason code?" I could have retired years ago..... _________________ Honesty is the best policy.
