Can dynamic queue's be added to a cluster? It doesn't appear so, but I am looking for confirmation. Thank you. _________________ IBM Certified Specialist: MQSeries

The answer is no, you can't define/add a dynamic queue (temp or perm) with cluster attribute.
From the System Administration guide then dynamic queue gets its attributes inherited from the Model Queue that was used to create it.
Now, from the MQSC command reference. There is no option in the DEFINE QMODEL to define the model queue to a cluster.

I want to do the same. I see that after the queue is created you can then alter the cluster attribute on the dynamic queue (temp or perm) to put it in the cluster. |

For what reason do you need a cluster attribute in a dynamic queue? In general, dynamic queues are used, to create a target for REPLY messages. Such queues are addressed by using the ReplyToQ and ReplyToQmgr fields of a message and you have no need, to set the cluster attribute.
When you need to set the cluster attributes, the applications, which shall sent messages to this queue, have to know about it. Then the applications have to be a config file or whatever, in which the queue has been specified. In such cases you should create a local queue definition using "DEF QL...".
I am very interested in a scenario, in which dynamic queue with cluster attributes are useful! _________________ Regards

This is an interesting concept, but I have to side with Hubert. Even if you could do this, why would you want to? _________________ IBM Certified MQSeries Specialist
