Hi again

First of all -> thanx for the last fast answers on my last topic.

My Problem:
I want to send SQL-Queries within MQ-Messages to work
with a database. To solve this problem I want to use the
ODBC-Functionality of MQI to connect to a DB and do
some SQL-Queries like select, insert...... does anyone know
how this is working and what I have to do ?
Can this be done in Java ?

greets from germany and thanx in advance

Try looking at some of the code in the Software Repository
www.mqseries.net/pafiledb203/pafiledb.php on this site. There are a few samples that use MQSeries and a DB. One of them might be what you are looking for.

saxofun,
MQI doesn't have any ODBC-functionality. MQI is only an interface to MQSeries, and allows you to interact with a queue manager, typically getting or putting messages from queues.
Now you'll need some application creating the messages which can formulate SQL queries in the form of strings to insert into the messages. Once the messages are put on a queue, you'll need another application which uses MQI to remove a message from the queue. Once it has the message, it can inspect the contents and retrieve the string which represents the SQL query. Now, you'll need to use ODBC (or JDBC if you are using Java) along with the appropriate driver for your database, to pass this string as a SQL query to the database, and retrieve an answer. If you desire, the answer can be packaged into another MQ message, and sent back to the sending application as a reply to his request message.
