Hi,

Here is my problem while connecting Control center to the Configmanager.

1)I have logged in with my Administrator ID , Which is added to all necessary groups needed to administer MQ and MQSI.
2)I have installed MQSeries, and MQSI.
3)created 3 Queue managers for Config manager, Broker and UNS,
4)Created Config manager, Broker and UNS.
5)Started Config manager, Broker and UNS.

From control center satarted connecting to Configmanager giving The host name, port, and Queue Manager name of config mgr.

I am getting the following error:

r_______________________________________________
BIP1352S MQSeries queue manager &1 on host system &2 not available.
Explanation: When connecting to the MQSeries queue manager, queue manager &1 is not up and running and listening for input on host system &2. The Control Center is unable to communicate with the Configuration Manager.
User Response: Check that the queue manager name entered in the Control Center File->Connection dialog box has been correctly specified. Start the MQSeries queue manager if it is not running. Ensure that the MQSeries listener is running and listening on the correct port, that only one listener is listening on that port. Ensure that MQSeries server connection channel
SYSTEM.BKR.CONFIG is defined to the queue manager. For more information on this error see the
MQSeries Application Programming Reference manual,codes 2059, 2161, 2162, and 2009.
______________________________________________________

My config Mgr is running i can see it from the MQExplorer and the listener is running. Can you figure out the possible mistake??

Thanks
Kiranp

You can not use Administrator id to connect to MQSI using Control center because it's length is greater than 8 characters. You need to create a service user id (For eample, mqsiuid) and assign this id to all mq* groups and Administrator group. The same id (mqsiuid) can be used to connect to the database. This id needs authorizations to connect/create/update/delete on db2 database.

Using DB2 Client configuration assistant, register your databases for ODBC.

Now, run command similar to following to create your configuration manager:
mqsicreateconfigmgr -i mqsiuid -a password -q CONFIGQM -n MQSICMDB -m MQSIMRDB

Once the configuration manager is created, you can create your broker using command:
mqsicreatebroker MQSIBK01 -i mqsiuid -a password -q BK01QM -n MQSIBKDB.

Don't forget to define a pair of channel (sender and receiver) between your Broker's QM and Configurarion Manager's QM.

If you are installing/using MQSI for learning purpose then I would recommend you to have single queue manager shared between Configuraration Manager, Broker and UNS.

Hi Kira,

I have done as you said. Created new id and added it to all MQ* groups, and attached one Queue manager to all 3 components.

But the response is the same AS I MENTIONED . Not able to connect to config Mgr From control center.

bye

Hi,

Use commands mqsilist and dspmq to check whether Config Mgr and QM is running. Make sure there is only one process listening at the specified port. From MQSeries Explorer see if the SYSTEM.BROKER.CONFIG Server connection is defined and its running.

Do you see any error message logged into Event Viwer? Have a look at <mqseries_install>/errors directory and see there is any error log for the queue manager.
