Hi vennela,
I have no problem starting the queue manager with 'strmqm'. After starting the qm I can even execute the runmqsc. Please go through the results below.
dis qmstatus all
AMQ8705: Display Queue Manager Status Details.
QMNAME(xxxxxxQM) STATUS(RUNNING)
CONNS(27) CMDSERV(RUNNING)
CHINIT(RUNNING)
AND
START channel(SYSTEM.DEF.SVRCONN)
1 : START channel(SYSTEM.DEF.SVRCONN)
it stays like this forever. No completion message.
ps -ef | grep xxxxxxQM just shows
mqm 819266 733342 0 19:21:27 - 0:00 /usr/mqm/bin/amqrcmla -m xxxxxxQM -o START -c SYSTEM.DEF.SVRCONN
The receiver channel on the BROKER_QM doesn't respond to the call from configmgr's sender channel.
2............runmqlsr also is not responding.
Before starting the queue manager I tried to start the listener using runmqlsr. But I never get the response.
Please let me know if you need more details.
Thanks a lot

Why would you possibly want to start a SVRCONN? _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

Hi Jeff,
Thanks for your reply. The problem is not only with SVRCONN.
Let me explain the problem in detail. I have two queue managers , one for broker and one for configmgr, all are running on the same machine, on AIX. I am using the WMQ tool to access and work with the queue managers. The whole set up was working fine. Suddenly, I was not able to connect to my broker queue manager from WMQ tool. Then I checked the status of the channels. None of them were running. I tried to restart them. The START CHANNEL(xxxxxqm) command just hangs and never responds. Then I tried to restart the qm. "endmqm" was not also not responding. I had to use preemtive shutdown to bring down the qm. Then I restarted the qm and checked the status. The status is
dis qmstatus all
AMQ8705: Display Queue Manager Status Details.
QMNAME(xxxxxxQM) STATUS(RUNNING)
CONNS(27) CMDSERV(RUNNING)
CHINIT(RUNNING).
dis lsstatus(*) all shows the listener is running.
I do not know what went wrong with the broker qm.
both queue managers use circular logging.
Can you please help me to bring back my broker queue manager to an active state? Please let me know if you need more details about the problem.
Thanks a lot,
Vinod |

WMQ Version? Assuming WMB is v6 as Config Mgr and Broker are co-located. _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |
