I am looking to cluster a local queue across 4 linux servers using WMQ 5.3 CSD 11 and I have some confusion on the workload balancing piece. Each server will have local q defined as "Bob" and one of the servers will act as a file receiving agent that receives LARGE files from a mainframe gateway. These files are broken down into batches and those batches are then broken down into individual "items" for processing. Currently, all of this batch and item processing only occurs on the server that recieves the file. So, to distribute the load, we want to cluster one of the processing queues to send work to all 4 servers - server A receives the file from the gateway and distributes the "batching" across the complex.

Here's the problem; the MQ Clustering book states that the workflow algorithm will always "put" to the local instance of a queue if one is present. If that's the case, than that must mean that Server A, the file receiver, cannot have the "Bob" queue defined locally? If so, than does that mean we must use an exit to make this work?
