MQ 5.3 BMC 4.x.x Solaris
I am new to BMC Patrol and I am trying to do the following
1. send an email when the queue depth increases beyond a set threshold.
2. send a email with the status of all the queue managers, queues, channels on that box.
Can anybody suggest me how to do and where to look for information to do these tasks.
Can I do all these tasks just by using the patrol gui for mq. I have the km's for mq loaded.
Thanks

Hi ,
I am new to BMC patrol monitoring tool. what needs to be install on my local machine. I have patrol for MQ s/w. i installed on my local System now i need to connect remote QMs(differnt group Mgrs) i need to configure some shedule tasks for every 5 sec like copy the messages from one Q to another Q, check the queue depth and dead letter Queue Messages handling and monitor the channels... from my Patrol Admin console.
I am not able to see the Patol agent Service,Event Listener. So My question is what needs to be install on on a remote System(remote Qmgrs). how my admin console will connect to the remote node or group managers.
Pls help me |

There are basically 2 parts in Patrol for MQ (Admin and Operator). For the Admin it uses the Admin console. To be able to use this you have to have the Admin console, a group mgr(mcmgm) plus node mgr for each MQ box. For the Operator part you need the Patrol classic console and the PatrolAgent+MQKMs on the MQ servers. Now for your requirement to move messages there is QMM(message management) function which is shared between the two. So you can do message mgt from both either via OS scripts or PSL scripts which the base patrol uses.
cheers,
