Hi
Is there any best practice regarding the number of incoming ports that can be defined in a collaboration template?
If in an interface, a destination application is catered by mutiple source applications (say 3 appln), I would configure 3 separate adapters for each of these source application. And I can create one collaboration template that will perform business logic on the data coming from any of these source application and send it to the destination.
Since am binding the collaboration to the adapter, do I need to create 3 collaboration objects (based on one collaboration template), to bind to 3 different source adpaters? Or can I define 3 separate incoming ports in my template and just create one collaboration binding each of the incoming port to different adapters?
Am sure both these cases would work, but am looking out for what is the best practice when dealing multiple source applications?
Thanks

I am assuming that the GBO to the collaboration is the same from all the source applications.
I did what you have described in your first approach. To back that approach, if you have additions sources added, all you have to do is configure an additional Collab object instead of changing your template as described in your second approach.
Also GBO's and ASBO's are kept different for achieving what you described in your first approach. _________________ -Ratan |
