Hi guys,
I have little trouble in understanding what should be the optimal architecture for WPS with failover and load balancing features.
Let me start with current WF application architecture.
We are having 2 WAS servers(hosting client application) in cluster and 2 WF servers in cluster.(hosting business process). There are 2qmgrs on WAS and 2qmgrs on WF and all are in cluster.
Database is in remote box. This configuration is ideal for our applications.

Now, trying to apply the same to WPS and lost!!. I had a hard time in understanding it from reading installation manual. It looks like, we need to have good WAS knowledge. Before going to WAS guy, I thought of sharing in my favorite form

In WPS, below what I am thinking, how it will be. I may be wrong. Feel free to correct me.

There will be 2 WAS servers(Cluster 1) hosting client application
2 WPS servers(Cluster2) hosting the Business processes
Use the default messaging instead of WebsphereMQ(as recommended in book) to host resources on different cluster than the applications(here, what is applications means? client application or Business process application(WPS)?)
Use remote database.

Related questions are,
- Are Cluster1 and Cluster2 needs to be different or should all 4 server must belong to single cluster in order this to work?
- Since on WAS m/c there is only client application running, I assume they will use the remote EJB API's to access the process instances running on other servers. Is that correct?
- Is there any other document, which explain more about the architecture?

- More questions later

Thanks in advance!!

-Mahesh
