We're running MQ5.1 for Tandem NSK on a 4 CPU S74000, running G06.27.
Occasionally, we have to rebuild a Queue Manager from scratch. Of course, in these cases the channel sequence numbers are set to 1 again.
To avoid having to reset each channel sequence number as the channel tries to start, we're looking for a way to reset them all at the same time, once the queue manager is rebuilt.
What is the best way to reset all the channel sequence numbers to their last values?
We have a TACL routine that issues a DISPLAY CHSTATUS(*) SAVED ALL to capture the LASTSEQNO values but these do not always seem to be the latest values. We've also considered running this TACL in a loop to save the last sequence numbers to a file and use this after the queue manager is rebuilt.
Is there a better way?
Thanks! |

The Best way in my opinion is to use the saveqmgr with -R option ,
which gives you the channel defs with reset channel seqnum(1)
I am not sure if you can compile the saveqmgr on option on 5.1,
The other way is to manually include the reset channel command in queue defs |

LuisFer has built a Tandem version of saveqmgr:
http://www.luisfer.info/4613/index.html
It should work on MQ 5.1 (the current version of saveqmgr, should, in theory even work with MQ V2), but afaik, it hasn't been tried. _________________ -wayne |
