Post subject: creation of transmit queue

hi experts
i was trying to create a transmit queue using this command
define qlocal (transmit1.queue) usage (xmitq)
bash: syntax error near unexpected token `('
but it didnot work
please help me with this

It worked for me. I am using v5.3 on solaris.
Try
define qlocal('transmit1.queue') usage(xmitq)

This message appears from bash because you typed the MQ admin command in a bash shell. Instead you need to type something like
Code:
crtmqm QMGRNAME
strmqm QMGRNAME
runmqsc QMGRNAME
Then you will get a runmqsc prompt, at which you can then type define qlocal(... etc.
To end the runmqsc program, type
Code:
end
at the runmqsc prompt.
