Real simple question. When running a broker under UNIX you get the follwoing processes:
bipservice
bipbroker
and as many DataFlowEngines as you have execution groups.
Can anyone give a very high level on what the two bip processes are responsible for? I cannot find anything in the documentation, my guess would be administrative agent and controller - however it'd be a guess!
bipservice is a "service control manager process", so a Broker or UserNameServer starting execute it. Then this process is calling bipbroker or bipuns. When bipbroker or bipuns terminate anyway, bipservice will re-start its.
bipbroker is working in a similar way than bipservice, just this process watch DataFlowEngines.
