Hi every body,
Iam using WBIMBV6.0 with file extender nodes.
Iam writing my MQ output message as a file.
How can i find a duplicate record in a file.
example :
I write a record to file with data llike ssn , name etc.
my file contains data like
123456 , ugbcg , jkj;jj
78910 , rudfudi , uidtut
4567 , uitgugf , uioodt.

Now iam writing a duplicate record containg data
123456 abcd yudydy. to output file.
My question is how can i replace old data with new one. Is there any method to do that. please give me some idea.
Thanks

I would find the duplicate record before you write it to the file.

You will have to write code to do this. It's not hard code to write, if you think about it.

You should look at your file in sorted manner. See your OS's sort utilities. Some will even handle the sort / merge and give you a new file with all the changes and the overwrite....

Enjoy

You really need to talk to your OS people (network services/ os maintenance etc...) and ask them what the capabilities of their sort / merge utilities are. You may then find out whether or not they will have a utility that suits you. Be not afraid to describe in detail what your need is...

Enjoy
