We have about 500 NT clients that will connect to a qmgr on AIX. We were have troubles getting the authorizations to work with the OAM. It seems that even if you set the MQ_USER_ID and MQ_PASSWORD MQ-Series ignores these system variables.
If the NT user is defined on the AIX machine and has access to the queue everything is fine, but we do not want to manage these users on AIX.
If you set the MCAUSER property on the SVRCONN channel they can get in fine but there is a security hole.
We would like our NT application to set a username and password that exists on AIX but we have not found a way to do this using the OAM. _________________ --

Hi,
The MQ_USER_ID and MQ_PASSWORD variables are ignored on Windows in the versions after 5.0.
To implement it you have to get an security exit, or take a look on version 5.3 and see if there are faccilities here to satisfy your needs.
