Hi guys,
Is there something like a getting started with message broker rules and formatter edition book out there (besides the mauals. I know I should read them, but I just want to get started with it for now).
Maybe something that is comparable with the primer for WMQ.
I already asked Mr. google, but he couldn't find anything that seems to be usefull for me.
Thanks

Hi Sebastian
Just out of interest, what are you trying to do that cannot be done in RF that WMBv6 cannot handle.
I only ask because most places using RF are trying to deprecate it - extra cost, complexity etc
Unfortunately, then manuals are the only way forward I know of understanding the RF.
Best wishes |

Hi,
to be honest, this was just out of interest. No concrete project or thing to achieve.
But as long as you are here... If I got the purpose of it right, then all it really does is to bring support for the NEON engine and the NEON message format with it. How do I have to imagine this? Is it just bringing another parser and some nodes with it? Or is there a lot more that cannot be explained in 2 sentences.
Again. All I really want is a really quick overview so I know approximately what it is about.
Thanks

NEON R&F was basically MQIntegrator 1.x, before IBM was ready with 2.x ...
in 2.x R&F was only needed until the TDS parser came out.
All R&F stuff still in place today is legacy and can be replaced by current functionality in the broker.
I wrote an 'interpreter' for the R&F exports to 'evaluate' what it actually did, but due to lack of interest I never proceeded with the project...
The end goal of the project was R&F exports as input and TDS in combination with ESQL as output. _________________ Michael
