Can a dead-letter queue be defined in V5.2.1 for Windows 2000?

Yes. You can do it in one of two ways:

At qmgr creation, -u SYSTEM.DEAD.LETTER.QUEUE

or after the fact with alter qmgr in runmqsc:

alter qmgr deadq(SYSTEM.DEAD.LETTER.QUEUE)

IF you don't want to do any of this using runmqsc commands, the same can also be done through the MQ Explorer.
right click queue manager - properties

you could also specify a queue other than the system.dead.letter.queue as the queue for this purpose

Thanks for the replies! Apparently the manual I have is incorrect, as I had hoped. When talking about the dead letter queue, at the end of the topic it says the Windows NT version does not support dead letter queues. Did this used to be the case, and it has been corrected in the software, but the manual was not changed? This makes me wonder if I need to ignore some of these things and just try it anyway. Oh well, looks IBM documents about like me!
