Hi All,
I have a quick question. I have MQ 5.2 CSD12 on WinXP, Service pack 2. I have created a QM under user name "A". Now I have changed my password and when I try to open the explorer it thows some error.
I understand it is due to the change in password. But the process of the organization requires me to change the system login password every 30 days and the same problem will occure. Is there anyway I can come over the issue?
YES I AM SEARCHING THE SITE ALSO
Regards,

MQ runs under a particular user. That user can be set in the "Prepare WebSphere MQ Wizard". It can also be reset by re-running that wizard.
You can also change the password by editing the DCOM configuration for the MQSeries service.
Most organizations that have password change requirements make exceptions for "service users" like the one that WebSphere MQ runs under. Or they accept that they have to do additional work to change this password, like re-running the Prepare WebSphere MQ Wizard, and facing the risk of some outage due to restarting things.
Note, you should not ever really be LOGGING IN as the MQ service user. In fact, that user can be fairly well restricted in it's rights and priviledges. Open a PMR to get an exact specification - and while you're at it ask them to add it to the documentation! _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |
