We have an envionment running on iSeries. The HTTP server is passing connections through to the application in WebSphere. Simple enough. But a few times a week, when this application is being used by a lot of users, it grinds to a halt. It doesnt crash, just sort of freezes (I think this is because iSeries is managing the memory and won't let it crash). Garbage Collection is running fine, we've configured the WebContainer threadpool without any hassles (both of these were tested in a seperate environment and were fine).
Here's the snag though:
When this 'crash' happens, I restart the HTTP (not WAS just http) and for about 15-20 minutes everything's cool (although it won't release the ThreadPool connections for the WebCaontainer). So it eventually forces me restart the app.
Does anyone have any ideas? |

I would take a look at the memory pool(s) these jobs are running in. Are you using contact admin adjustment or is it manual? Check for high paging/thrashing (Wait to inelligible, ect.)
I've had similar issues with MQ and the moving the jobs to a separate pool with "enough" memory resolved the problem.
Hope this helps.
