Hi.

For migrating MQSeries for ZOs 1.4/1.7 from V520 to V531, I'm looking for a bookhelp or a guide for after migrating like 'how to pick up old datas and to enclose it in the new system MQ, how to swith from 520 to 531 and all actions to restart on V531 an so on ?'.
Do you have an idea ?
Sorry for my bad English from France.

Regards.

Look at z/OS Concepts and Planning Guide Chapter 21 - Migrating from previous versions ==> What to do when you migrate from a previous version.
Only one thing be carefull if you have Queue Shared, the rest is easy.

I doubt you can work with two versions of MQ in the same LPAR. I'm pretty sure you can run two versions of MQ in different LPARs.

You can't work with two versions of MQ "in the same machine" on any distributed platform.

you can run different mq versions in the same LPAR, all you need is to have the highest level of early code active (SCSQLINK SCSQSNLE).

Yeah, I'm not a mainframe guy! So he must be right.

I guess you could do the same trick on unix, where you had the mq product install as a mount point, and mount one version under /usr/mqm or /opt/mqm (depending on platform) and the other version somewhere else...

but it would get a bit sticky, and I wouldn't do it in production for sure...
