Everyone-
To keep up with the increased operating costs of this site, I have decided to allow MQ-related companies to become sponsors of this site. Don't worry, this doesn't mean you are going to get annoying pop-up ads like every other site out there. I have tried to build a sponsorship package in such a way that there is a value added for everyone here. Basically, there is a sponsors page that is going to be linked from both the main page, and the main forum page. From here you can read about the various sponsors, and link to their sites.
The real value lies in the sponsored forums. This allows MQ-related companies to sponsor forum(s) which deal with their own products. Think of it as almost like an online tech-support forum. You can also provide feedback to the company about ways to make their product better. The company's own employees will moderate the forum, which will ensure expert responses to your questions.
And without further ado, I'd like to announce that Reconda International Corporation is our first sponsor! Please take a chance to look at their website, and download the evaluation version of their web-based MQ monitoring tool.
Please, don't hesitate to let me know what you think about the addition of sponsors to this website, whether publicly or through private message. I am always looking for ways to improve this site, and while none of us want pop-up ads or banners on every page, I think you'll see the value added by these sponsored forums. It also allows me to purchase better equipment to run this site on, and hopefully make MQSeries.net an even more valuable destination than it is today.
Thanks!

It is a great idea to have vendor dedicated forums on this site. You propose a nice combination of sponsoring required to run your site and opportunities of exchanging ideas, issues and requests for the products.
Your site is excellent. I have discovered it recently, and I now read it every day.
Can I suggest a new topic to include on the web site: maintain a top 20 of the most requested enhancements & bug corrections of MQ Series, voted by the users of this forum. We represent a significant user community of MQ Series, this top list may be heard by IBM. This option could be extended to other MQ Series related products as well.
Thank you for your excellent work, Brandon. _________________ Nicolas Maréchal

Well, if we simply come up with a list of potential enhancements to the product, the forum software allows people to create polls in their posts. Then people can vote on it.
I'm also interested in hearing from people what additional forums they may want. For instance Crossworlds, Neon adapters, etc... _________________ Brandon Duncan

Well, hopefully BMC and Candle will be interested in sponsoring forums catering to their own products... _________________ Brandon Duncan

Roger,
As Mercator is an independent company, I'm somewhat wary of adding them as a forum, only because we've stuck to IBM specific products thus far (with the exception of sponsored forums). Do you think there is enough crossover between Mercator and MQ to necessitate a separate forum? How many people out there use the two products in conjunction (I have no idea) ? _________________ Brandon Duncan

Hummm, good question. I know Mercator has a huge chuck of the transformation market and for me at least, it always involves a MQ component. But I don't know how many people use both Mercator and MQ.

Think we should consider having Adapter/Connector forum, since most us are dealing with it would be great to have separate forum for that.
In this process of creating separate forum we should also be congnizant of pain that comes along. Like .. a new user may find it difficult post a question ....
keep up the good work
