Hi,
while testing distributed quing with Websphere MQ 6.0 on Windows XP this happens:
I tried to send a persistent message over a channel to a full queue. There was no dead letter queue definded. I expected, the channel goes in retrying an the message is still in the transmission queue.
But the message was not visible anymore, the channel went to retrying, the error log was full with messages.
After fixing the problem, all messages went to des destination queue.
Is this behavior normal ?

If the channel is retrying, the message is still in syncpoint, I think. That is, it is still "uncommitted".
You can't browse uncommitted messages but you can see them in the qdepth for the queue (the xmitq in your case). _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

The messages are not visible in depth or count of uncommitted messages in any queue.
If I stop the channel, this doesn't change, the Transmission queue looks as if it is empty. But after start, the channel is retrying.
I tried it with 10 messages, all disappeard until I fixed the problem(queue full) and starts the channel.
EDIT:
The problem is the mq explorer. The qstatus UNCOM(NO) is displayed "No", UNCOM(YES) the field is empty.
Jeff, you are right, the messages are uncommitted and there is no counter, it's only a flag. _________________ Gunter Jeschawitz
