Hi there,

I am trying to configure a stanby broker in a AIX HACMP environment.
I've been using the support packs for that purpose (IC61, MC63).
Configuring the standby QMGR went fine but the broker just won't start.
I've checked the user.log for errors and found these errors:
- ... BIP2371E: Database statement 'SELECT ProcessId FROM xxxx.BROKERAAEG WHERE ProcessID <> 0 AND BrokerUUID = ?' could not be executed ....
- ... BIP2321E Database error: ODBC return code '-1' ....
- ... BIP2322E Database error: SQL State '60'; Native Error Code '1509'; Error Text '[DataDirect][ODBC 20101 driver]1509' ....
- ... BIP2048E: An Exception was caught while issuing database SQL command SELECT BrokerUUID, ExecGroupUUID, ExecGroupUUID, ExecGroupLabel, .... FROM xxxx.BROKERAAEG WHERE BrokerUUID = ? ORDER BY ExecGroupUUID ...

I've enabled an ODBC trace but that didn't help in finding the cause to this problem.

Some technical data:
- Aix v5.3 ML02
- Oracle 9i
- WMB 5.0.6
- WMQ 5.3.5

I'd appreciate any kind of help!

Thanks,
Alik

Alik,

You should ask your DBA about any Oracle error. Otherwise, send us the full lines of syslog entries.

Can you provide the entire error message text?

Hi alechko,

I have a few questions which may help narrow down the problem:

What does your HACMP configuration look like?
Is the standby broker on a seperate machine?
If so, how does the broker access the broker database once it has been failed over?
Is the database accessed remotely or is it being failed over in the broker's HACMP resource group?

Many thanks,

Mark

- Actually, we are not using HACMP in a standard way.
We are using two different machines that are using the same storage.
We configured a file-system that is shared between them both.
We inquired about the scripts (IC61,MC63) and been told that
they are compatible for our purpose.

- The db is configured in the same way that broker is.
It is configured on a storage pool that is accessed by both machinese.
It fails over the standby machine manually.
The broker access the db localy through ODBC.

Thanks,
Alik

After making some changes in the permissions for odbc under /usr/opt/wmqi/merant, I'm receiving now 2 more messages:

BIP2322E: Database error: SQL State 'HY000'; Native Error Code '1509'; Error Text '[DataDirect][ODBC Oracle driver]File not found 'IVUK.LIC'.'

BIP2322E: Database error: SQL State 'HY000'; Native Error Code '6060'; Error Text '[DataDirect][ODBC Oracle driver]You are not licensed to use the DataDirect Technologies ODBC Driver under the license you have purchased. If you wish to purchase a license for use with this application, then you may use this driver for a period of 15 days, during which time you are required to obtain a license. You can order a license for a DataDirect Technologies ODBC driver for use with this application by callind DataDirect Technologies at 800-876-3101 in North America and +44 1727 812812 elsewhere.'

I've checked to see if there is a file called IVUK.LIC and I found it under /usr/opt/wmqi/merant.

Does anyone have an idea what is configured wrong?

Thanks,
Alik

Solved it!!!!!!

Found the problem at the IBM support:
