I have to install MQ 6 for AIX from local file systems. Can some one help me how to mlunt local file system to install MQ on remote server

how to mount file system (local/remote) ?
does mount/cdrom is enough
what is the cdrom is on remote server cd

Hi
First thing to know is:
Is the base code on the box where you have to install MQ. If yes,
Where is the MQ Base code (installation files). Say for example if they are in a directory called /media/MQ/v6
If the files are already present then you don't have to mount anything.
Now once you locate these files, use smit or installp or geninstall to start the installation process. It is menu driven and look it will prompt you for where the installation media or base code is and what all components of MQ you need to install etc.
If the base code is on a different box, then definitely ask your sys admin to mount that filesystem onto the box where you have to install MQ. |
