Guys,
I am having some trouble with the Publish/Subscribe Functionality on WBI Version 6.
First of all, I went through the manual 'Publish/Subscribe User's Guide Version 1 Release 0.7'. It all seems fine, I created my User Name Server, my Broker, registered for Pub/Sub, my Config Mgr, a new Queue Manager. Also a Topic. Now I need to create a Publisher and a Subscriber. In the manual it states that the command for creating the Publisher is:
Quote: |
Register Publisher
Topic (MQCFST)
Topic (parameter identifier: MQCACF_TOPIC).
156 MQSeries Publish/Subscribe User’s Guide
RegistrationOptions (MQCFIN)
Registration options (parameter identifier:
MQIACF_REGISTRATION_OPTIONS).
The following options can be set:
MQREGO_ANONYMOUS
MQREGO_LOCAL
MQREGO_DIRECT_REQUESTS
MQREGO_CORREL_ID_AS_IDENTITY
StreamName (MQCFST)
Stream name (parameter identifier: MQCACF_STREAM_NAME).
QMgrName (MQCFST)
Publisher’s queue manager name (parameter identifier:
MQCA_Q_MGR_NAME).
QName (MQCFST)
Publisher’s queue name (parameter identifier: MQCA_Q_NAME).
PCF Command Messages |
...the same for the Subscriber command. To be honest, these commands doesn't make sense - I tried it all sorts of ways, I cannot get it to work.
I even downloaded the 'IBM MQSeries Application Messaging Interface, Version 1.2.4', used it to load:
Service Points,
Distribution Points,
Subscribers,
Publishers.
...but where to from here - how do I test it?
In short what is the command line parameters to create the Publisher and Subscriber - and how do I test it?
Thanks in advance

It sounds like you are willing to use any API. Maybe you would like to try JMS or the one IBM has recently released - IBM Message Service client (XMS). Actually it looks like the AMI is withdrawn (it appears on the Withdrawn Category 3 SupportPacs page), and this is the replacement.
There are versions for C/C++ and .NET:

The advantage of using JMS or XMS is that they do all the Publish/Subscribe command message and MQRFH2 work for you. That stuff is really hard work, and so I'd recommend using an API that hides it from you. |

Mvic,
Thanks a lot, I am a desperate man at a not-so-easy client . I'm downloading it as we speak. Will keep you updated.
