Hi
I have worked on MQSI 2.1 before and have done transformations using eSQL.
I have a new position now which requires WMQI 5.0 eSQL coding.
So i want to know if theres a place where I can find sample eSQL code. This new place is coding eSQL functions and procedures. I used statements to transform messages so I am not used to this type of coding.
Really, though, there isn't a lot of difference between v5 ESQL and v2.1 ESQL.
You don't have to use procedures (other than the presupplied main). There are good reasons for doing so - the same reasons there are for using methods or functions or procedures in any language - but the reasons to keep stuff in one procedure in any language also apply.
Also, in 2.1, a lot of people ended up using separate nodes and separate subflows to emulate procedures. So if you were used to that way of thinking about separating pieces of logic, then using procedures isn't a new way of thinking at all. Just some new syntax. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general.
