Hi all,

Hoping you can help me... If I create a queue using the windows wizard, there is a tick box to allow remote administration of the queue.

I want to do the same thing from the command line in AIX when using crtmqm... is there a way to do this???

Presently, if I try to remotely manage a queue created on the AIX box from my windows manager I just get a username/password error.

Thanks very much,
Mike Jerome

Mike,

I believe that checking the 'allow remote administration' box simply causes the creation of the SYSTEM.ADMIN.SVRCONN channel.

If you are experiencing username/password problems with a client connection from NT to AIX, it's most probably because the userid is not known in AIX.

A quick and dirty way of accessing the remote qmgr is to alter the SYSTEM.ADMIN.SVRCONN channel to set MCAUSER to 'mqm' (or some other user in the mqm group) but this will allow any conmnecting client complete access to the qmgr! Not what you want in prod, that's for sure ....

Regards - Cliff
