Firstly I'd better explain. I'm in a situation where as a non Java programmer, I am trying to troubleshoot an issue which has landed on my desk. I hope my asking this question is OK, but no doubt I'll soon find out if it isn't!!
Here we go.... an application is writting messages to a queue and using the MQFMT_STRING format. On the receiver side JMS is used. Now as I understand it, JMS uses the format field to determine the message class (byte, text etc). If no format is specified then a default of MQFMT_NONE, which JMS takes as format byte.
I also understand that MQFMT_STRING is taken as Text in JMS.
Now my problem is that the receiver is claiming they are seeing lots of messages which have no format set and therefore JMS cannot map these into a JAVA object.
Any MQFMT_STRING formats are processed successfully.
So, after all that, my question is...is there a way I can get them to dump out the message to see its details? I'm acting as a man in the middle here and am currently going nowhere fast!
Any other ideas gratefully received !!!
Thanks for the help, and I apologise in advance if anyone thinks this is out of place here. |

there are some samples that come with mqseries like amqsbcg which you can use to browse a queue and see header details. there are also supportpacs around that may be used to check the content of messages in a queue like the q program, mo71 and so on (which can be found on the supportpac page) _________________ Regards, Butcher |
