Hello Friends,
I need to monitor process using WBI Monitor. The WBI Monitor gets only xml files as input.
So I generated an xml file from WBI Workbench and imported into WBI Monitor.
I'm able to see the process but I get the process instances as empty.BUt when I when the same process in MQ workflow has processinstances.
How can I get the process instances into WBI Monitor.
The MQWorkflow exports only in the form of FDL and html files. How can this fdl canbe converted to xml?
From the workbench how can i generate an xml file which will contain Process instances along with process?
Expecting ur replies,
Thanks,
Sonara. |

Two things.
1) After you import the XML file you will only see it start to record things for processes started after the XML file has been imported.
2) When you are making changes to your org file or the business measures from within modeler you will need to create a new version of the process. This is done by clicking on the ruler looking icon "Info" and changing the "Valid From" option. If you do not do this you will run into problems importing the XMLs into monitor and may see problems recording business measures.

BenBaumann,
Thanks for ur reply.
After I have imported the xml file in WBI Monitor,I'm able to see the process name.
Then I create the process instance in mqworkflow client.
These are connected to db2 database.Actual..after importing xml file I could see hte process name in db as well as in monitor.Once I create process instances through MQworkflow client it doesn't get updated even in db or wbi monitor.
In the reply u have mentioned to turn on "info" howz this related to my problem, could you explain little more as I'm new to workflow.
Thanks,
Sonara. |

When you are in monitor are you looking at the Business Dashboard --> Workflow Dashboard? That is where you should see all in-flight processes. After they are either completed or terminated you will need to go to Business Dashboard --> Views to see the details on your completed processes.
Regarding the "Info" thing I mentioned in the above post. When you are making changes to an org file in the workbench developement tool, be sure to create a new version of your process by going to the toolbar, and changing the effective date for this process version. You will need to reimport your monitor values, when you do that you will notice that there is a new version of the process in monitor. This helps monitor stay in sync with what is running in workflow. |

I'm looking at the Workflow Dashboard. So u mean to say that only those process instances who's state is completed or terminated will appear in the Dashboard.
This is option I'm choosing.
Business Dashboard-->Workflow dashboard-->
In the process combo box I select the process name.
I set the filter as ready.
But the result I get is
"The selected process has no process instances "
But for the respective process name that I have choosen has lot of process instances in the ready state (which I could see in workflowclient). |

you are looking in the right spot. In my process we don't have a filter setup. Try setting the filter to nothing or try running instead. |

Also make sure you have the audit trail turned on for the process you are monitoring. |

Also,
When you log into the WBI Monitor admin tool make sure all these services are started. Go to Setup Manager, Event Queue.
MQWF Connector
Event Processor

HI fidelio
" Also make sure you have the audit trail turned on for the process you are monitoring."
The audit trail that you have mentioned is present as a table in workflowruntime database.
How can it be turnedon for a process in the monitor???? |

The set filter criteria is not much necessary.
U could see in the attached image ,I have 2 process.Once I select one of the process I get the message saying "The selected process has no process instances" (You can see one marked with red color).
Without filter I should get the process instances.
As mentioned in ur reply I have also services started.
So what could be the pbm?how can I solve it.
!!?

The audit trail is a feature of the WF engine that by default is turned off for all processes, even though the table exists in the DB. On each level of object in the Network tree there is a "Process" tab in the properties dialog which gives you the option to have the Audit Trail Inherit the settings from the higher level, turn Off auditing (default), turn on Condensed auditing for a subset of the events, or turn on Full auditing. In the properties dialog for each process there are the same options on the "Control" tab.
If you can run a process in runtime but don't see the process in the Monitor, my first instinct is to check to make sure that the Audit trail is turned on for the process, and second is to check to make sure that records are being written to the audit trail DB. If there are records being written to the DB, then make sure that in the Monitor Administration all of the processes are started as BenBaumann indicated. |
